The Egyptian Museum is especially great, very atmospheric. Lenbachhaus, a privately owned museum is also great, lots of Wassily Kandinsky paintings.

Deutsches museum is pretty neat too. Besides the museums, the historic city center around Marienplatz is very nice for a walk in the pedestrian roads, grab something to eat, visit some shops etc.

There are also some old Gothic cathedrals in the area. They are large and imposing and the ambience inside is nice. Asam Kirche is a Baroque-style church, small but blingy.

I reckon they are worth a visit. Munich also has nice parks. Englischer Garten and the Olympia park are a nice visit if the weather is good.

When I visited I spent most of my time around Marienplatz. If you're into Hellenistic art the Glyptothek has an incredible collection that Ludwig I brought together, tons of pieces that you'll recognize if you studied it in school.

The price there is pretty reasonable as it used to be a student bar. There is also a pub called Stammbar in the area, where you can tap your beer yourself.

They have a decent selection of beer and whiskey. Deutsche Museum is a museum for technology, It's been a long time since I went there, but iirc not every exhibition has english translation.

The museum is huge, you will spend at least half a day here. Near the Deutsche Museum, there is cinema called Museum Lichtspiele, that always shows the rocky picture horror show during the weekend.
