So well done. Every character had a purpose, every storyline thread was followed through. This is a beautifully written, acted and told drama.

I hadn't seen anything like it in a long time. My oh my, what a beautiful story; I loved Gran Hotel! I loved the fact that the two were good friends first, but that there was an undeniable attraction from the get go.

The setting was breathtaking, the music mesmerizing and all the characters added depth to the entire story. It did not bother me that I had to read the English translations at all.

I, like so many said before here, indeed picked up a lot of Spanish words and phrases and the Spanish added more charm to this powerful telenovella.

Superb plots and acting,especially from Julio and Alicia-their facial expressions and body language said it all! The Spanish are great story-tellers!

I first watched Cable girls and Morocco; Love in a time of War- Amaia Salamanca is one of the main characters here and is beautiful and a good actress, but Gran Hotel is by far my most favorite show ever.

Like all of the other fans, I also binge-watched and felt a hole in my soul once I had finished. Reading this blog and all your reviews honestly make me feel like I'm not the only one.

It's beautifully shot, acted, and written. Honestly there are some storylines I think could be better, but the passionate romance between Julio and Alicia really pays it off.

I was thoroughly pleased to have a show that I couldn't figure out. I obsessively watched it, rewound numerous parts so I could catch the subtleties.

By far the greatest romance portrayal I have seen ever. Told my daughter to watch it and 2 episodes before Agatha appeared, I told her it had the feel of an Agatha Christie novel.

I tried Cable Girls but just can't see Yon as anyone other than Julio. Love love love this show. The quarantine is making me watch shows I just glanced over previously.

I wish YouTube had more clips with English subtitles. I actually watched Cable Girls first and didn't think would like it as much.

The Grand Hotel definitely surpassed it. Loved loved loved every moment of this show and went back to watch it over and over and over again ,the romance and chemistry is amazing!!!

There was a scene when Julio and Maite were in Alicia's room and Julio said something to the effect that he still had a job for the week. Had the hotel deal not fallen through, it felt like there was no indication that Alicia and Julio had any plans to leave.

I just felt like it was a hurried ending I really fell in love with the characters of Julio and Alicia and right now, I refuse to watch their shows with other actors.

This too shall pass. The ending was a bit rushed but I loved how happy it was. I too felt the same about other shows but I went on to watch Morocco: love in times of war.

I liked it but I was upset when it only had one season. It too showed a love triangle and even racism etc. I liked how it broke those barriers when it came to love and also had a comedy aspect to all the drama like Gran Hotel.

This was a classy show in how they did the 20s, although season 1 and 2 were the best for me. Lots of plot twists and you see live grow between characters.

I watched the final episode last night and was quite disappointed with the ending. I really enjoyed the romance between Julio and Alicia.

However, in the final episodes Julio became very self centred. Diego is dead and therefore, as his widow, Alicia is now the owner of the hotel and the mines.

She should also get back from the detective the suitcase full of money taken from Diego. So Alicia has everything going for her Except Julio doesn't care that she has expressed her desire to remain at the hotel..

But no! Julio issues an ultimatum to Alicia. If you do not come with me you will never see me again. Together they walk over the hill and the show ends with many issues still unresolved.

I think it would be all downhill from there. They are leaving wealth and safety for the unknown. They have no money, they have no home and Julio has no job.

Alicia is pregnant with someone's baby Who knows? I loved this show but was disappointed that the writers messed with the personalities of the main characters towards the end.

If I was Julio and Alcia told me she wanted to stay at the hotel I would have been happy just to be wherever she was So happy to find this blog!

Feeling desperately lost because I just finished binge watching this truly epic show. I loved that it wasn't dubbed so we could hear the actual voices of the characters, even if reading subtitles.

Trying to fulfill the hole left behind, I found Cable Girls and Morocco. But the dubbing threw me. I missed Julio and Alicia's voices. I want to mention Alfredo because he was a fantastic character - a man of honor, as he said.

He forgave Sophia for absolutely everything, even her forbidden love story with the priest. This show has it all Love in an instant , betrayal, lush story lines, and well developed characters.

Alicia was Cinderella and the incredibly gorgeous Julio, her prince. We rooted for Andres through the entire show, and his mother, the fabulous Dona Angela became the queen she was destined to be.

If I could have changed anything, it would be to get more than the 2 minute follow up, especially for Julio and Alicia. We gave our hearts to their characters and their love story, and they showed us way too little of their future.

But they were happy, and I'm grateful that the series concluded by giving us happy endings for all the characters.

One more mention Grandpa, you are right about the ending. I have a feeling they found out they weren't getting another season, and tried to wrap it up quickly.

But to add to what you're saying, neither Julio or Alicia if staying true to character would have left Andres.

But I will add to the ending in my mind. They stayed living nearby, and as part owner Alicia shared in the wealth without living in the hotel.

Following her father's wishes and keeping with her education, she kept her hand in the business dealings of the hotel, or used her wealth to establish another business.
